MWC 2017: Samsung Galaxy S3 Tab And Windows 10 Powered Galaxy Book Launched

Samsung at its exclusive event at MWC 2017 launched the Galaxy Tab S3 and Windows 10 Powered Galaxy Book. The Galaxy Book Available in 10.6-inch and 12-inch models. The Tab S3 comes with an S-pen for jotting notes and sketching on the screen. Samsung also announced a new keyboard for the Tab S3, available as an additional purchase.

The Galaxy Tab S3 has 9.7-inch, 2,048 x 1,536 Super AMOLED display which supports HDR video, and the Tab S3 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. A MicroSD card slot supports memory expansion up to 256GB. The tablet now has four speakers (tuned by AKG) and measures a scant 6mm thick. Android 7.0 Nougat with Samsung’s touches provides the software experience.

The Galaxy Book comes in 10-inch and 12-inch models. The touch screens are different, with the 10-inch Galaxy Book using a 1920 x 1280-resolution display and the 12-inch model using an AMOLED, 2160 x 1440-resolution display. Neither model has an OLED option like the Tab S Pro had. The 12-inch model has a Kaby Lake Core i5 processor, upto 8GB of RAM, and a 39.04 W/hr battery capable of lasting up to 10.5 hours on one charge. The 10-inch Galaxy Book is powered by an Intel Core m3 CPU, has up to 4GB of RAM, and a 30.4 W/hr battery that can last up to 10 hours on one charge.

Samsung has also includes new, productivity-focused features. A new S Pen which is larger and thicker than the S Pens included with Samsung’s older tablets. It has a new 0.7mm tip and over 4,000 levels of pressure sensitivity. It supports all of the S Pen features you’d expect, like taking notes, capturing screen shots, and even recording GIFs from video. The Tab S3 has an optional keyboard case, which attaches to the bottom of the tablet via a pogo pin. As such, it doesn’t need to pair with the tablet and never needs to be charged, like Bluetooth keyboards do. The keyboard is made of plastic and provides a surprisingly pleasant typing experience, though it does not have any backlighting.
